United Against Diabetes

United Against Diabetes (UAD) operates alongside multiemployer funds to decrease the incidence of diabetes and cardiovascular disease among fund members in the construction industry. UAD carries out its function through NCCHP-distributed startup funding provided by Pfizer. We implemented an online Health Risk Assessment that collects health information from seven lifestyle areas, which then shows each participating fund member the high-risk behaviors they may be practicing. We also created an administrative area which allows funds to use this data to address the health needs of their members as a whole. The administrative area also provides funds with access to a library of health-related handouts that can be distributed to educate fund members.
